CASEY WATT
Casey Watt The ability to touch people through music is a magical gift and none love sharing this gift more than Brisbane based singer/songwriter Casey Watt. With a voice that can soothe your soul, an infectious smile and a cheeky sense of humour this young performer wins over even the toughest crowds and leaves them longing for more.
Born for the stage, she knew from the tender age of five that she was destined to become a singer, and at fourteen years old with six guitar lessons, a self penned song and no performing experience she entered the National Music Muster Talent Quest and hasn't looked back.
Casey’s teen years were spent travelling to many country towns performing at music festivals. At seventeen years old she fronted her first country rock band, "Casey and the Soul Stealers", and keen to start a recording career she made her first five track EP called "Lost In Your Eyes"
The two time Star Maker Grand finalist has had a wealth of experience in live performance in impressively diverse genres of music, but her country roots still shine through giving her a unique vocal style that keeps her in demand. Her most recent achievement being taking out the Best Female Vocalist for South East Queensland Club Awards three years running.
Graduating from the CMAA College of Country music in 2001 Casey started honing her songwriting skills, and has penned a number of songs from her eagerly awaited debut album, "Lead You Astray". (OUT NOW!)
Not only a songwriter but also an interpreter, Casey has an appreciation for the beauty and strength in other people’s music and delivers every song, whether it be her own or a cover as if she had lived it!

CHECK 2
CHECK 2 CHECK 2 was formed in 1998, when Colin Johnston and Lyn Golding met, and decided to blend their experience of music, and enjoy entertaining together. They started out by attending the country music clubs in the Northern Rivers area, being members of Kyogle, Mullumbimby, Casino and Yamba Country Music Clubs.
They soon found they were in demand in the various clubs, as well as for private functions, birthdays and Weddings etc.,
CHECK 2/5CHECK 2 also perform as a five piece dance band, adding Drums, Bass and a Saxophone, to their two Maton Guitars and vocals.
This very good sound is very popular at the clubs for ballroom dancing nights, presenting the perfect tempo's and tunes for the various dances of the 50's and 60's era.
CHECK 2 has been entertaining on a regular basis for the past 6 years, gaining more popularity all the time, especially at the Lismore Heights Bowling Club and the Lismore Workers Club, where they play on a regular basis.
Two years ago Col and Lyn were encouraged to record a CD, and were lucky enough to meet Harry Young, who has the Pump Room recording studio, just out of Kyogle.
The CD, "OUR TOWN", with the title track being the Iris Dement song. Harry Young wrote the track "Rain on an Old Tin Roof", which is the only original song on the CD. Other tracks are of songs most requested for Col and Lyn, and the shorter version of "Our Town", was decided upon, to make it more appropriate for air play.

COAL BUCKET
Coal BucketCOAL BUCKET are a three-piece band consisting of Kye Cole, Chris Ryan and Mickis Green. Having performed for the last two years as covers pop/rock band "V3", the band recently finished a successful 5 week engagement at the
Australian Outback Spectacular on the Gold Coast ......"Coal Bucket were a brilliant compliment to the ‘Australian Outback Spectacular’ Show, they entertained our guests in true Aussie style." - Shane Phillips, production manager, Australian Outback Spectacular.
The band's love of music is obvious, and their passion is openly portrayed to their audience. With a repertoire of songs ranging from old and new classics to some of the more obscure beauties of the past, Coal Bucket certainly live up to their motto of "We Make Country ROCK!"
KYE "THE CANUCK" COLE: Vocals and guitar
Kye Cole immigrated to Australia from Canada in late 2003. An amateur musician in his home country, since arriving in Australia Kye has pursued a music career full time. Having played in the covers band "V3" with Chris and Mickis for the past two years, the lure of country music became too strong, and has led to the creation of Coal Bucket
"I grew up on a horse farm in Western Canada, and while I've always loved rock 'n' roll, my roots really are in country music. Over the last 16 years I've been playing at everything from campfires and house parties, to pubs and weddings."
CHRIS "TRAIN" RYAN: Bass Guitar
Chris began playing in bands with friends when he was 15, and it was while playing in Mummyfat that he met Coal Bucket drummer, Mickis Green.
Kye Cole had replied to Chris' advertisement for a guitarist, and after a few jam sessions together, Chris knew Mickis was the drummer they were after.
"We're all great mates, we're all passionate about the music, and we have a lot of fun. The only bad times are when Kye stresses out......(ask about our Biloela tour if you want to know more!!!)".
MICKIS "THE MACHINE" GREEN: Drums
Brisbane-born Mickis Green started his music career at the age of 13. Having only ever wanted to be a drummer, Mickis has been seated comfortably behind his drum kit ever since.
"I love what I do," says Mickis. "It's such a great release.....I go to a different world when I'm playing. When we get a lively audience, it's just great; the vibe comes across and charges us up as well".
Mickis brings a vibrant energy to the band, as well as the occasional touch of comedy to the band's performance, which is a perfect complement to the more laid back personalities of his two band mates.

DANE SHARP
Dane SharpA former professional soccer player, Dane Sharp’s knee was shattered along with his dreams. However, in a life changing moment, a friend gave him an old guitar for comfort and he was soon busking and playing backyard parties.
From there it was a natural progression to open mic nights, restaurants then bars and touring trips out west, also playing in a duo "Country Bound" honing his Country rhythms.
In January, Dane played a series of shows in Nashville and worked with some of country music's leading songwriters and musicians, such as Luann Reid (Kenny Chesney) and Brett Manning (Keith Urban).
Recently signing to independent label Touchwood Productions, Dane is currently working with award-winning producer Duncan Wood on his forth-coming album, due for release in early 2007. The first single, "Nothing to Lose", is sure to whet the appetites of all who hear it.
Apart from that its been nice to have a regular acoustic gig every Thursday and Saturday at Nonna's Restaurant Bar, which is ironically Adam Brands old place. I will take a week off soon as I have been playing at least twice a week for over two years and recharge the batteries before the album is launched and get ready to take this thing to the public.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for news on the album and launch and if you are on the Gold Coast come down to Nonna's on a Thursday or Saturday and say "Hi".

HARMONY JAMES
Harmony James Territory singer songwriter Harmony James generated a lot of interest when she released her debut EP at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January. The first single "Tailwind" is due to hit the airwaves at the end of February.
When Harmony wrote the song "Tailwind" about needing to get back out on the highway, it wasn't a stretch. Living in the outback where you think nothing of driving 600km to a rodeo and having had almost as many addresses as birthdays she is well equipped to talk about the road. But "Tailwind" is a special song, a song of hope, special enough to make the cut in the recording studio, special enough to be selected as the debut single, and special enough to be a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition. In fact her song "Tailwind" is the only Australian entry to make the finals in the country division.
With the launch of her official website the EP is now available for purchase online at www.harmonyjames.com or you can listen to and vote for the song in the People's Choice section of the awards www.songwritingcompetition.com/pvwelcome2006.htm
For more information or interviews call Harmony James on 0419 780 182 or Email contact@harmonyjames.com

JASON KEMP
Jason KempLiving in the western Queensland town of Roma, has given Jason Kemp the inspiration to write some great country songs, from Bush Ballads to good old Country Rock. In 2002 Jason recorded and released his first track, "Cowboy's Hat" which brought him to the attention of Independent recording company Steer Records.
Two new singles were released in early August 2003, both very different songs which shows the diversity of this great emerging talent. "No One Loves This Truck Like Me" is a great trucking song, and has been widely picked up by radio around the country. "Through The Eyes Of A Child" a very moving song, was recorded with a number of new rising country music stars, such as Josh Arnold, Tanya Self, Col Finley, Gemma Doyle & Michael Bryers. It gained Jason a place in the final five of the 2003 Music Oz Awards, and charted in the Country Tracks Top 30 Chart. It is also currently gaining world wide recognition on the country play lists in Europe, coming in at No: 2 in the UK and reached No: 14 in the most played artist's chart in Europe.
This Dance - Jason KempJason's album "THIS DANCE" was recorded in Brisbane under the guidance of Queensland producer Michael Flanders and was released at Tamworth 2004. This young Australian is one singer/songwriter who will no doubt become very well known and respected within Australia's Country Music Industry, not only for his unique songwriting but also his live performances.
Jason's Video clip of "Roadtrip" from his CD "This Dance" is now in the library at CMC.

$25.00 + $3 P&H - You've got to hear this one!
Jeff Brown & FredJeff Brown’s new album is out in the shops and also being distributed directly by Jeff and Regency Sound Recording Studio. This album has been a long time coming but has been worth the wait. Jeff’s last 2 albums "Poverty Liner" & "I Remember Gordon Parsons" were well received and are sill selling, but this latest release has placed Jeff in a category all his own.
In the 4 years between albums Jeff has, very carefully, picked some of the best Australian songwriters and musicians to help him out with this one. His good mate Keith Jamieson penned the lyrics and music to the title track "Mate I’m Feelin’ Lucky" especially for Jeff. This track suits him to a tee as it tells the story of a trucky’s life travelling this vast and beautiful country.
This album sold in large numbers in Mildura during the festival, even though it had not been officially released and is continuing to be requested by music stores and radio presenters all over the country.
Jeff Brown is going to be around for a long while and continue in Slim’s footsteps to keep true Aussie country music live and popular.

JOHN McSWEENEY
John McSweeney It says something about the character of "John McSweeney" that, after being awarded "Queensland Country Entertainer Of The Year" a record 10 times, he gave up nominating to give someone else a go!
Since abstaining back in 1993 however, John has racked up bigger successes with the astounding sales of his "Songs You Know By Heart" series and numerous others that have netted him a "Double Platinum" Award, A "Double Gold" as well as just an ordinary "Run Of The Mill" Gold Award!... All up he has released a total of 21 albums in Australia, 7 in New Zealand (Where his Gospel Album has gone GOLD and he hasn't even been there) and a number of releases in the United Kingdom.
Appearing with major acts such as "Charlie Pride", "Slim Whitman", "Peter, Paul & Mary", "Daniel O'Donnell, "Jon English & Marcia Hynes" John also has the distinction of performing on the "Grand Ole Opry" Gospel Show. His all around entertainer profile is enhanced by his ability to play not only guitar but "Saxophone, Clarinet, Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle & Drums". His impersonations of "Willie Nelson, Bee Gees, Gene Pitney, Merle Haggard, Dean Martin, Tiny Time, Hank Snow, Chad Morgan, Louis Armstrong, Al Jolson, Tex Morton & Johnny Ray" explains why his live performance date book is still full!

Video Clip of "Carmelita" NOW on Country Music Channel
KYLIE HOGAN
Kylie Hogan Kylie Hogan is one country artist who "lives" what she sings about – she has an affinity with the bush, and is emerging as one versatile entertainer.
Kylie gained her interest in country music in her late teens listening to Patsy Cline. At around age 18 she taught herself to play guitar, and it was from here that her songwriting skills developed. Songwriting is Kylie's first passion, and it has led to co-writes with Shanley Del, Tom McIvor and Jason Kemp.
Someone On Your Mind - Kylie Hogan2005 saw the release of her debut album "Someone On Your Mind", produced by David Thompson (Australian Eagles Experience Show), with an accompanying filmclip for the single "Carmelita".
"Someone On Your Mind" is a blend of old country styles with new contemporary feel. The release of her single "Carmelita", Kylie reached No 2 on the English country charts, and No 49 on the European country charts. The self penned ballad "Someone On Your Mind" has also received airplay worldwide, both charting on the Worldwide Mainstream Most Played Artist Charts.
Kylie’s single "Out Getting Over You" made the Top 100 Country Hits chart and was named the Best Recorded Song at the 2006 SEQ/TSA 11th Annual Songwriters Awards.
"Whether she's singing her own tracks, new originals from other songwriters or established classics, Kylie Hogan seems to place her own stamp on each song A very listenable voice with barely perceptible tones of the high country, Kylie has that relaxed bush feeling in her vocals What more can you ask in an album?" – Deborah Minter, CapNews
"Out Getting Over You" was named a Top 10 finalist in the 2007 Australian Country Music People's Choice Awards for Best Song.
Kylie's second single "Country Kind of Girl" received great airplay at radio. Following this lead, her new single "I Met You" is currently on the Top 50 CMC video chart (#34) and also debuted on the Top 100 Country Hits chart (#84).
Kylie is also in pre-production mode for the new album to be released late 2007!!

NATALIE HOWARD
Natalie Howard - Photo by Monique LarrouxAustralian born singer/songwriter, Natalie HOWARD is presently based in Nashville, Tennessee. Her home town is the 'Gold Coast', Queensland, Australia.
She received a grant through the RADF (Regional Arts Development Fund) that financed a trip to America to write and record her first demo session. What came from that was her debut Australian album 'Yesterday's Makeup' and USA and Canadian 'self-titled' release.
Natalie's music is passionate and comes from the heart. Her songs cover everything from ballads to upbeat sassy numbers which show her versatility. She lives the music she sings which is current and vibrant with gentle touches of a pop influence.
Natalie's first #1 hit in Australia was the video clip of the song 'The Long Night' duet with Nashville artist and hit songwriter James Dean Hicks. It was closely followed by her second #1 video hit 'You Never Knew Me' on the CMC (Country Music Channel) Top 30 Countdown.
Natalie has achieved many Finalist Nominations in Songwriting and Artist Awards in Australia and overseas. All her Australian singles were radio hits and 'Is It Just Me' became a Top 10 hit on the Country Tracks Top 30 Chart and a Top 5 on tmn Country Hot 30 National Country Airplay Chart.
The announcement of the Musicoz 2005 Best Country Artist Award with her song 'I Can't' combined with the USA 2006 IMA (Independent Music Awards) Country Song of the Year with 'I Don't Want To Live Like That' started off an amazing 12 months for Natalie.
Her 'self-titled' album was released in USA in 2006 and a radio tour through various States helped her debut single 'I Don't Want To Live Like That' chart extremely well on The Music Row Chart and was a Top 5 hit on the Independent Music Network (Los Angeles-New York) Country Top 30 Countdown.
Natalie shared the bill with Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Jimmy Wayne, James Dean Hicks and Jennifer Hanson during Tin Pan South week at 12th & Porter and was accompanied by James Dean Hicks in a 'live' acoustic performance on the popular TV programme 'Words & Music,' which is known as the Showcase for Nashville Songwriters. It is hosted by veteran entertainment reporter Harry Chapman.
Natalie's first fan signings at the GAC (Great American Country) TV and Y'all Magazine Booths during CMA Music Festival were greeted with great enthusiam by her fans. She was interviewed by ABC (American Broadcasting Corporation) TV and her performances at the Wildhorse Saloon, 'The Circle' at The Country Music Hall of Fame, The Tin Roof, The Bluebird Cafe and the Chevy Sports Zone Stage were extremely well received.
"Her rousing performance in the Chevy Sports Zone at this year's CMA Music Festival was proof that this Australian import is definitely on the right track". 2006 CMA Close Up News Service - Peter Cronin
In September, Natalie was a featured artist in the 'Who's New' section of the world's most read country music publication, 'Country Weekly' and in the Debut Artists Spotlight section of 'CMA Close Up' the official publication of the Country Music Association.
Natalie was invited once again this year to perform with other premier songwriters at the 12th Key West Songwriters Festival in Florida. She performed at the world famous Hog's Breath Saloon as well as other great venues during the 5 day festival. One of her performances was filmed by GAC TV and included in their programme 'Country Music Across America'. An interview with her was included in the Key West Songwriters promotional video clip.
Natalie is presently writing and recording for her next album to be released later this year.

NIK PHILLIPS
"A singer/songwriter is an actor who never gets the chance to remove his make-up. You live your craft from morning to night, then dream about it in your sleep". (Nik Phillips 2004)
Nik PhillipsIf ever an artist has lived the life of "music at its roots", then it's Nik Phillips. Being engulfed with acoustic music through the discovery of Jackson Browne, James Taylor and Jim Croce at an early age, Nik left school and started on the road, performing in his own style and has never stopped.
His ability to perform over 250 shows a year has enabled him to build a solid and supportive grass roots fan base, which has even grown from one generation to the next.
And the gigs have been many and varied. From the local legend status nights, to the Pier at Santa Monica California (through the Soccer World Cup), the Rainbow on Sunset, two State of Origin performances in front of over 50000 people and regular appearances at Ballymore Stadium before more then 20000 people. (Nik wrote both the Qld State of Origin song as well as the official Qld Reds track)
Also performances with General Cosgrove and Prime Minister Howard at welcome home events for troops from East Timor deployment. (This came about through the song "Come Back Soon" which was used heavily by the Defence Dept during the East Timor operation. The song was involved with projects which raised over $70000 for two orphanages in East Timor).
Nik Phillips - Songs From The 4th FloorThis independent drive has also been carried over into the recording studio, where Nik has recorded 6 albums. Nik has always believed the best judge of a song is an audience, and that is where his are constantly being refined. "I couldn't imagine life without a stage. There is a certain addiction involved with trying to improve your craft night after night. Constantly searching for that something which may take your audience to somewhere they haven't been before. Or perhaps somewhere they long to be again."
SONGS FROM THE 4TH FLOOR is Nik's new CD released by RAW Productions and distributed through MGM. It is an alternative country/adult contemporary album which captures Nik's unique style. When pushed to make a comparison to other artists, one wise scribe suggested perhaps its like a round table meeting of Neil Young, Dave Mathews and Ryan Adams.
SONGS FROM THE 4TH FLOOR was produced by Australian country music producer Michael Flanders. The first single off the album is "Not In This Life" and it is currently receiving healthy support through ABC radio, The Country Music Channel and a host of regional radio stations.

ROLAND STORM
Roland StormRoland Storm was born in Rockhampton. He has proved to be a firm favourite in no less than 25 countries around the world, with a career spanning from the sixties through the millennium and a repertoire of songs in the hundreds. Roland has enjoyed great success with an extensive recording catalogue, including a Gold Record for his biggest hit "Rolling With The Flow".
TV in the 60's introduced Roland to Australia with shows such as "Six O Clock Rock", "Teen Time", "Saturday Date", "The Johnny O'Keefe Show", "Sing! Sing! Sing!" and in 1964 he became a regular performer on Reg Lindsay's Adelaide "Country and Western Hour" and later on Reg's Brisbane "Country Homestead".
Roland studied his art well, all types of music production, musical history etc......and discovered "Rock and Roll" was primarily and extension of Country Music and that many of the Rock and Roll "hits" started as Country songs.
Our Roland is one of those rare entertainers who comands audience attention from his position at the keyboard, making it look so easy, yet delivering a powerhouse, dynamic performance which underlines a long career history of shows all over the world. Roland's formal classical vocal and piano training includes seven years in the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, equipping him with the essential skills for his stage performances.
Loving all styles of music Roland landed an early break appearing on the Reg Lindsay Country Music Television Show staged in Adelaide for the Channel 9 Network, so I guess we could say that Roland is another of the many artists to receive a helping hand from the great Reg Lindsay.

Mary Carleo a well respected country music promoter from Perth, encouraged Rose to give her first performance of the classic song "Roll in my Sweet Baby's Arms" at age thirteen.

THOSE GALS
"So Far So Good" – NEW ALBUM FOR Those Gals
Those GalsTamworth trio Those Gals launched their second album "SO FAR SO GOOD" on November 17 at the Tamworth Services Club.
2004 John Laws Rising Star finalists the all girl group Wendy Wood, Kerry Walsh, and Carolyne Morris's version of the John Fogarty "Southern Stream Line" was heard from coast to coast on the nationally syndicated radio program last year.
Singer/songwriter Wendy Wood acknowledged just what an impact it had on their future recordings.
"Being amongst the JL Rising Star finalists really encouraged us to keep doing what we do. It also helped us decide to take it to the next level."
Those Gals work every weekend travelling mainly around the North West and Hunter Regions. In between times they recorded their second album at Hilltop Studios with music producer Gary Brown.
"There's eight originals six written by us and we've recorded four covers."
According to Wendy the covers "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye", "Oh Boy", "Mississippi" and "If You Ever Have Forever In Mind" are all very popular with audiences at live gigs. "Oh Boy" is a remake of Australian Diana Trask’s biggest charting US country song of the mid-70’s.
"It's so popular we had to include it on this new album."
Also included on the album are two songs by local songwriter Steve Charles (Teardrops & Heartaches) and one by US writer Lana Sprague (Cowboy Cuddle).
Audience favourite "A Bell I Ringing Out in Beaconsfield" was written by Wendy earlier this year as Australia witnessed the tragedy of the Tasmanian community.
It's included with two other Wendy originals "Are You Happy Now?" and "My Heart's Still Holding On". For first time writer Kerry Walsh "Introduce Yourself" gives a new spin to hapless love. The Carolyne Morris penned "Consider Me" and "Gettin' Down & Playin' the Blues" makes six from these very individual 'Gals'.
